Aetherius

Apr 2024 23

Sometimes beauty is only seen in darkness,
When no light is around,
For the stars show their ethereal haze,
Only when the sun sets,
At the end of bright day.

For when I look up,
The wan lights are not outshone.
Each star brilliant and bright,
Its light greeting from afar,
Its place distant and alone.

For in the void of heaven’s embrace,
Lie the brilliant lights, astronomical.
Even in a small patch of nothing,
There are countless glimmers of luminance,
And countless places to go.

Take me to Orion,
To do battle with mighty Taurus,
My skill a gift from Jupiter,
And my body made of stardust.

Take me to the outer rim,
Where the solar system ends,
Transcending Pluto and Neptune,
I wish, to there, ascend.

Take me not to another country,
Or another Earthly frontier;
Take me to the heavens,
Where the stars and galaxies err.

Take me to Aetherius,
To the host and starry night,
For when I look to the stars,
That’s where my dreams lie.
