Makes 4 drinks
Ingredients
1 cup or 10 teabags asam tea
6 cups boiling water
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/8 tsp kosher salt
2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk
ice as needed
12 drops yellow food coloring (optional)
1 drop red food coloring (optional)
Procedure
Bring water to a full boil at 212F.
Steep tea in a large bowl for 15 min – 2 hrs. Also stir to dissolve the salt and sugar.
Once steeped, add sweetened condensed milk.
For each drink, fill to the brim with ice, add 1 cup tea base, and finish with 1-3 tbsp of evaporated milk.
To be fancy, poke 2 holes on each side of the can and pour the condensed milk over top just before serving. Watch as the wisps of milk float to the bottom.
