Why I love food and cooking
I have always been a foodie thanks to my parents, and I have loved food ever since I was little. Having the opportunity to travel around the US and UK with my dad and my grandpa, I always found myself trying new things, and finding amazing places to eat. Even when I went to places like London England, New York NY, and San Diego CA, food was always one of the highlights. This in mind, food has always been one of my many passions, and ever since I could hold a spatula I enjoyed the culinary experience: both creating and consuming food. I love the concept of creating something that others enjoy so much; I love that personal connection when I make food for someone, especially if it makes them really happy. I hope to someday do that with the food I make.
I know it may be cliche, but my mother is one of my biggest inspirations for cooking food. Sustenance and contentment are natural parts of parenthood, and ever since I can remember my mom was making dinner and cooking food for me. This act of care is something I want to carry over to the food I make. I don’t want my food to simply be energy for the body; I want it to be a personal connection to the soul. I want the food I make to be the essence of life and happiness itself, just like my mom gave to me.
